Potential significant changes/improvements to development plan--Meeting scheduled for Mon, Aug 7th, 7 PM
Posted on Aug 5th, 2023

The developers have noticed the lack of neighborhood support and have now stated they wish to revise the development plans. The developers have presented these improvements to the plan to PTRA, TPAN, and the West 86th Subdivision HOA leadership just as of August 3rd. The developers have stated that, even though they prevailed with the hearing examiner at the July 27th hearing, they were impressed by the Traders Point residents' turnout and opposition. The revisions made by the developers represent their attempt to address the residents' concerns presented through the remonstrance. Perhaps the developers recognize animosity from closely surrounding neighbors to the project site will not bode well for the future success of the development and any tenants that build in the site. With these new events transpiring, Susan Blair/PTRA has issued the following announcement:

As of Thursday afternoon, petitioners (developers) for the Crossing at Traders Point (former Ropkey/Beeler properties) amended the proposed site plan and desire to present it to the Traders Point area residents.

Details of the amended plan will be presented at a PTRA special meeting scheduled for Monday, August 7th, 7pm, Pike Township Government Center, 5665 Lafayette Rd.  Developers will be in attendance.

Apologize for the late notice; please plan to attend.

Therefore:
1) acknowledge the good result our large attendance at the July 27th MDC hearing has generated;
2) be committed to continuing to be present at hearings and meetings, along with letter/e-mail sending; and
3) continue our advocacy for protection of Traders Point, our homes, natural resources, and our health and well-being.

See you on August 7th. Be prepared to ask questions or make comments (politely, of course) if opportunity is available.
